The British Society of Blood and Marrow Transplantation is an organisation for those with a professional interest in haematopoietic cell transplantation.

The President and the Executive Committee are responsible for the running of this organisation which has a written constitution and twice yearly annual meetings.

The BSBMT maintains a registry of all transplants performed in the UK each year.

The Clinical Trials Committee performs prospective and retrospective studies that aim to enhance the field of transplantation.

The recently developed Scientific Sub Committee aims to enhance transplant science in the UK.

The BSBMT also maintains responsibility for accreditation of units throughout the UK by links to JACIE.
